The Right to Keep and Bear Arms

The President & Senate Coming After Guns: Feinstein Bill Comes After Most Handguns & Shotguns & Rifles

American Hunter-Gatherers for those of you who watch and read the news I am sure you have seen the agenda to begin the process of taking away and banning our right to protect ourselves. The National Rifle Association stands for people like us Law abiding hunters and gatherers, farmers and builders. NRA President David Keene wrote: “Disagreement over the 2nd Amendment is no reason to abandon the 1st Amendment.”

The "gun question" has always sparked heated debate between those of us who believe in the constitutional right "to keep and bear arms" and those who disagree. It's a legitimate debate, one the NRA welcomes. Fortunately, facts matter to the millions of Americans who — whether they own firearms or not — aren't so easily convinced that we would be living happy lives in a violence-free utopia if we could just ban guns. Americans are a practical people and, in the wake of a tragedy such as Newtown, they want answers. We want to know how we can prevent the next such tragedy, how we can protect our children, and in seeking answers to those questions Americans want facts, not feel-good measures that have never worked in the past and aren't going to work in the future. We realize, as our virulent opposition does not, that the facts and statistics are clear. “Restricting firearms sales to honest, law abiding American citizens will do little to prevent violence and much to undermine the core values of a free society.” I agree and so should you if you value your freedom and the ability to protect our families at home. You should agree also if you enjoy the ability to participate in recreational, competitive and hunting shooting sports activities. Criminals will not be unarmed and Hero’s don’t wear capes. You must support the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Soldiers keep us Free abroad they free people oppressed while others watch or do nothing it’s their honorable duty. You as a Free American at home must do the same protect your home, your family. Law enforcement is on the street and tries to serve and protect everyday. You need to serve and protect your home you are your own families Hero not the bureaucrat who doesn't even know your name nor care.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), has started to outline the Senate’s plan to come after your guns, and it includes just about everything including handguns.
In January, Senator Feinstein will introduce a bill to stop the sale, transfer, importation and manufacturing of military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition feeding devises.
The Ban will include over 120 specifically-named firearms and will include any gun that has a detachable magazine with one “military characteristic.” As we know from past attempts, these characteristics have nothing to do with the actual guns performance and are often only cosmetic. This means almost every modern gun on the market could be included in this ban.

Not only will the ban stop the sale, transfer and importation of these guns, but it could also go after existing guns that are already legally owned. According to the Senator’s website, all existing weapons would have to be registered under the new National Firearms Act. This would mean that everyone who now legally owns these guns would have to go through new background checks, fingerprinting, certification from local law enforcement and the registration of all firearms.
Here are the details that have been announced so far:
The Bill Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:
120 specifically-named firearms
Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic
Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds
Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by:Bans large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.
Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test
Eliminating the easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test
Banning firearms with “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons” to address attempts to “work around” prior bans
Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
Background check of owner and any transferee;
Type and serial number of the firearm;
Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration
